Jason Listmeier, a part-time officer with the Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department (WEGO), appeared at the district court in West Goshen with his attorney and entered pleas to the three citations that had been issued by Chester County Detective Maurice Nadachowski in March related to the fatal crash that took the life of 75-year-old Michael Ghione on Feb. 19
Prosecutors claim that the officer was distracted by the computer mounted inside his patrol vehicle, and attempting to respond to reports of an erratic driver.
Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Officer Jason Listmeier, 24, was charged Thursday in connection with a fatal crash with a bicyclist on Feb. 20. Listmeier was responding to a report of an erratic driver on Route 202 when he lost control of his car and collided with 75-year-old Michael Ghione in the 900 block of South High Street.
Officer Jason Listmeier faces summary offenses in the death of Michael Ghione, whom he struck while distracted by the computer in his squad car, prosecutors said.
