the Kentucky Senate gave final approval to a bill that would ban state and local enforcement of any federal gun control enacted or implemented after Jan. 1, 2021. This includes the new ATF rule on pistol braces. Passage into law would take a step toward ending some federal acts that infringe on the right to keep and bear arms within the state.
the Maryland House passed a bill to create a regulatory structure for commercial marijuana cultivation and sales despite ongoing federal cannabis prohibition.
HB2394 would add language to include “any tax, levy, fee or stamp imposed on firearms, firearm accessories or ammunition not common to all other goods and services and that might reasonably be expected to create a chilling effect on the purchase or ownership of those items by law-abiding citizens” to that prohibition.
the legislation includes so many exceptions it would do virtually nothing in practice or effect. And language in the bill would likely be a green light for state and local law enforcement to keep working with the ATF to violate the Second Amendment.
the North Carolina Senate overwhelmingly passed a bill that would legalize medical marijuana in the state despite ongoing federal cannabis prohibition.
