COMMENT With a fair amount of media coverage in recent times focusing on the future use or non-use of electric vehicles in Australia, I thought it might be a good idea to provide a perspective from an actual user.
Much of what I have read is from publicity material provided by the companies that sell EVs, while another load of articles comes from those who review cars. This is not to say that there is a lot of fiction in this mass of material, but merely that the perspective of a user is always different.
Attention had turned to quality and longevity under the famed British sports car brand.
MG was rescued from the automotive scrap heap in 2007 by Chinese manufacturing juggernaut SAIC and it’s now finding favour with Australians.
Sales are building rapidly, and it’s the ZS compact SUV which is driving the popularity.
From a minnow, MG has rapidly become a serious player. So far this year the ZS is on the podium of small SUV sales. Now leading the Hyundai Kona and Mitsubishi ASX, the MG has rounded up some industry stalwarts on the back of value pricing, attractive designs and a seven-year warranty.

It is not news that the MG ZS SUV s petrol iteration is due to be launched in India. However, what is new is that the British automaker will not retail the vehicle as simply the MG ZS here. No, sir; if new reports are to be believed, MG Motor India intends to retail the IC engine-powered iteration of the ZS SUV in India with a different name. Of course, the automaker hasn t said what that name would be, but trust internet sleuths to figure it out nonetheless. And figure it out they did yep, we have yet another set of reports that claim the MG ZS petrol SUV will be retailed as the MG Astor SUV in India. The reason
MG Motor India today launched the 2021 ZS EV in India at a starting price of Rs 21 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Excite variant and Rs 24.18 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Exclusive variant. The updated MG ZS EV comes with four major changes - an increase in the ground clearance, different tyres, a longer range of 419 km (claimed) and an updated app experience.
