Metro Marrs had a run-in with the law over his recent stunt. After making it rain $10,000 in cash at his graduation ceremony on Friday, May, 21, the Bye Felicia spitter was taken into police custody.
In a video surfacing online, the 18-year-old MC could be seen pulling out wads of cash from his pants on the stage and throwing the bills in front of his fellow graduates. While his pals were thrilled, Langston Hughes High School officials were reportedly not happy with it.
One of Quality Control Music s newest signees, rapper Metro Marrs, appears to have been arrested at his high school graduation last week for throwing money on stage.
In video footage that has been making its rounds on social media, Metro was handcuffed after reportedly throwing $10,000 in cash on stage at his commencement ceremony at Langston Hughes High School in Fairburn, Ga., about 25 minutes away from Atlanta.
In a nearly minute-long clip, Metro is seen being detained by officers who are presumed to be from the Fulton County Schools Police Department. A male voice is heard saying, At the graduation. The man then yells for Metro to hand over a large wad of cash as one of the arresting officers instructs the 18-year-old rapper, born Marques Smith, to do the same. The same officer then informs the man behind the camera that Metro will not be marching out of the ceremony with the graduating class. ATLANTA, GA – Metro Marrs made the most of his high school graduation moment. While walking across the Langston Hughes High stage on Friday (May 21), the Quality Control rapper made it rain $100 bills with about $10,000 in total hitting the floor.
While school staff members tried to get him to stop, Marrs continued to throw money in the sky, but the move eventually resulted in him being detained by police and escorted out of his own graduation. The stunt got a ton of love from the crowd, which saw the Atlanta native get a standing ovation from his classmates.

Metro Marrs is one of Quality Control’s bubbling young acts who recently graduated from Langston Hughes High School in Atlanta, Georgia. As he was walking across the stage, Marrs decided to put some of that advance money to use by throwing a total of $10,000 in the air to his classmates.
As expected, his peers went wild. While they were scrambling to catch the cash, Marrs was grabbed and escorted from the outdoor graduation by on-sight police officers. He was reportedly detained and hit with a charge for inciting the riot. After spending a few hours in the precinct, Marrs was released and will be subjected to a fined ticket.
