Marrs graduated from Langston Hughes High in nearby the ATL. The 17-year-old rapper was detained for inciting a riot and disorderly conduct and then ticketed for the offense.

According to the Shade Room: Metro hadn’t seen his fellow seniors in person all year due to the pandemic and since signing with QC at the age of 17. He tells us this was his way of giving back to his school as he felt some of his classmates may not even receive money for graduation. Metro also tells us he waited until EVERY student walked and had their moment before throwing the money.

ATLANTA (WGCL) An Atlanta rapper and high school student ‘made it rain’ money at graduation but the excitement was short lived as officers swept in to stop the thousands of dollars’ worth of celebration.
After backlash made its way across social media claiming officers arrested Marrs, Fulton County Schools clarified to CBS46’s Ciara Cummings, the graduate was not arrested, charged, or cited for the Friday deed.
“You see what 2021 pocketed, y’all feel what’s going on,” Marrs can be heard saying in the now viral video which shows him throwing thousands of dollars across the Langston Hughes Graduation stage.
ATLANTA, GA – Metro Marrs made the most of his high school graduation moment. While walking across the Langston Hughes High stage on Friday (May 21), the Quality Control rapper made it rain $100 bills with about $10,000 in total hitting the floor.
While school staff members tried to get him to stop, Marrs continued to throw money in the sky, but the move eventually resulted in him being detained by police and escorted out of his own graduation. The stunt got a ton of love from the crowd, which saw the Atlanta native get a standing ovation from his classmates.
