The Millet House holds virtual art show calling for unity, inspired by Dr Martin Luther King Jr

and last updated 2021-01-28 13:49:00-05 MESA, AZ — Throughout the month of January, cities across the Valley are encouraging members of the community to check out different pieces of art as part of the Regional Unity ArtWalk. In Mesa, a group of artists has come together to create a unique show. The theme is: Imagine: What Keeps Us From Unity. Artist Therosia Reynolds says it was inspired by the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The overarching goal is to encourage, empathize and inspire, Reynolds said. But for this show, I want us all to take a closer look at ourselves and say, how can I be more humble, how can I listen to my brothers and sisters? How can I tell my brothers and sisters no matter what color they are, they matter to me? And you don t have to yell when you re speaking, because I m already listening.
