Olney Central College Instructor Heather Sandy’s artwork, Protect and Respect, won first place in the 2021 Art for Health and Unity Competition sponsored by Unity in Action Magazine in Champaign.
Sandy used both Procreate, an iPad app, and Adobe Illustrator to create the digital piece, which features four individuals walking together as the COVID-19 virus lurks in the background.

Offering a fresh perspective to art, national and international artists pay an ode to the spirit of womanhood in ‘Celebrating the Spirit of Womanhood’ Thirty-eight women artists from around the world bound by their love for art, colour and expression joined together for ‘Celebrating the Spirit of Womanhood’, an online art exhibition that was launched on Women’s Day. The exhibition, under the banner of La Aartemisia (a studio and virtual gallery), has been put together by Mumbai-based self-taught artist Sanjukta Arun.
