On January 29, around 6 p.m., a GTZ Express tractor trailer failed to negotiate a sharp curve on the Ulm Road near Clearmont, near a marked railroad crossing. There is also a sign warning on coming drivers of the nearly 90-degree turn.

The spring Shop Hop in Clearmont was held on May 20 and 21. The chilly and windy weather hampered the participants somewhat, with less people than expected on Friday.

For the fifth year, with the exception of 2020, Clearmont Shop Hop had a very successful show this past weekend.
The Shop Hop, with Clearmont Area businesses selling everything from pottery to pickles and from quilts to shabby chic furniture, drew large crowds on both Friday and Saturday, thanks in part to the warm spring weather.
Over a dozen vendors, spread out through the town of Clearmont, with two vendors on the outskirts of the town. There were tasting, samples of salsa, pickles and caramel puff corn as well.
The Hop went from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, with lunch being served by the Clearmont Community Church from 11 to 2.
