Joining me tonight is a political reporter with the arizona republic. We are broadcasting live from the studios at arizona pbs and the Walter Cronkite school of journalism in downtown phoenix. Tonights debate is being. Ivestreamed on a website topics were chosen by journalists from the four participating media outlets. Questions from the public as solicited by the commission are also included. The ground rules are as follows. Once we ask a question, both candidates will have 90 seconds to answer without interruption. The candidates will get 45 seconds or a rebuttal without interruption. We will be asking questions of the candidates this evening and what we hope will be a thoughtful and civil exchange. We are utilizing social distancing practices this evening and there is no Live Audience for tonights debate. Candidates are with us this evening and with the assistance from the wyoming league of women voters, we have predetermined the order that the candidates will appear and take questions this evening. All the candidates have been briefed on the ground rules for tonights debate. In addition to questions from us, midway through the debate, we will have a segment where the candidates unscripted will discuss issues amongst themselves. A republican, scott served for a decade in the state senate and was Lieutenant Governor when he was elected governor. Until he became governor, he worked in the Construction Industry and sold half of the Construction Firm he owned after being elected. David zuckerman is vermonts lieutenant government.
