AKIPRESS.COM - A group of 24 diplomats from foreign embassies, including from Kyrgyz Republic, based in New Delhi visited Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir in India on February 17, and interacted with locals in Budgam district, as part of their two-day visit to the Union Territory, Business Standard reported.
Earlier, the diplomats who landed in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir were accorded a traditional welcome by the District Development Council (DDC) Chairman, Nazir Ahmad Khan and other local council representatives.
The foreign envoys were briefed on Panchayati Raj (local governance) and grievance redressal through “Back to villages and Block” program, thus elaborating how the administration reaches the doorstep of people.
