HURON – Pierre Governor Track and Field had five individual winners Friday in the team’s first outdoor meet of the season, the Huron Invitational.
Girls
Pierre finished third overall in the team standings with 114 points.
Jessica Lutmer took her second win of the season in the 1600 meters, finishing in 5:33.12, just over six-tenths of a second better than Melanie Jacobs of Aberdeen Central. Brianna Sargent finished sixth and Jazzlyn Rombough was ninth.
Ryann Barry won the high jump. Barry was the only competitor to clear five feet.
Cameron Larson had an eighth-place finish in the 100 meters. Aleise Christipherson was second in the 200 meters, finishing just 25-hundredths of a second behind Taryn Hettich of Aberdeen Central. Barry was eighth.

PIERRE – A great start gave Pierre Governor girls basketball an early nine-point lead Tuesday over top-ranked Aberdeen Central, but the Golden Eagles rallied for a 61-50 win at the Riggs High Gym.
Pierre scored 21 first-quarter points and led by as much as nine points.
Melanie Jacobs led Aberdeen Central with 20 points, hitting six three-pointers.
Caytee Williams paced Pierre (5-6) with 19 points. Remington Price added 14.
