The annual Rock N’ Rail 1850 competitive bike races in Fort Dodge have been canceled for 2021, Meg Beshey, the organizer of the event announced on Wednesday.
Beshey said a combination of factors led to the cancellation.
She said there’s sponsors and volunteers who remain concerned about COVID-19. Ongoing road construction in the city is another factor.
Beshey hopes the bike races return in 2022.

Easter eggs can be decorated in a variety of ways including with melted wax, a flame, paint, glue and more. The hand painted eggs in the center bowl are from Portugal and were a gift from Meg Beshey’s father to her mother. -Submitted photo
Boiling red onion skins and red vinegar was supposed to make for a red tint to an Easter egg. In this case, Meg Beshey said changed the eggs to a green color with a marble look.
