US military scientists have been deployed to Georgia for research on bioterrorism agents at the Lugar Center, according to the new data leak. These bio-agents have the potential to be aerosolized and used as bioweapons. Among them anthrax, tularemia, Brucella, Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever, Hantavirus, Y. pestis (causing the disease plague).

The Asian College of Journalism (ACJ) Awards has opened nominations for entries for the investigative journalism and social impact categories. The Media Development Foundation (MDF), the trust that administers ACJ, announced the opening of nominations for the awards and invited journalists and news organisations to submit entries for consideration by the awards committee and jury.
The ACJ Award for Investigative Journalism will carry a trophy, citation, and cash prize of ₹2 lakh. The judging criteria will include the nature of the investigation, its impact and the extent of the public interest involved. Investigative journalism, for the purpose of the award, will be that which exposes wrongdoing in the public interest.
