Roundtable: How artificial intelligence is used to debunk fake news MILEN members and other experts met to discuss how media organizations have been using AI to fact-check misinformation. The event was co-hosted by MILEN, DW Akademie and the British University in Egypt. Speakers: Jochen Spangenberg is Deputy Head, Research and Cooperation Projects, at Germany’s international broadcaster Deutsche Welle. The unit operates at the intersection of journalism, IT, and media science.  Charlie Beckett is the founder of the London School of Economics and Political Science’s journalism think-tank, Polis and a professor in the LSE Department of Media and Communications. He currently leads their Journalism and AI project.
