GLOVERSVILLE The owner and lone occupant of a home on Burdick Road is receiving assistance from the American Red Cross after a fire tore through the structure on Tuesday night.
The Meco Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to 261 Burdick Road on Tuesday night for a reported structure fire was called in by the homeowner at approximately 7:54 p.m., according to Fulton County Emergency Management Director Steven Santa Maria.
Responding units, upon arrival, encountered a single-wide trailer home heavily engulfed in flames and requested additional assistance at the scene.
Air pack qualified crews from the Pleasant Square Volunteer Fire Company and Sir William Johnson Volunteer Fire Company responded with additional tankers. Members of the Sammonsville Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the scene with another tanker and the Caroga Lake Fire Department provided support on standby at the Meco station.
