Called for Democrat John hickenlooper. Republican, former head football coach of auburn flipped alabama. Republican erst won in iowa. Graham won in South Carolina and Mitch Mcconnell won in kentucky. Several seats, though, still need to be decided before the night is out. Meantime, democrats are expected to keep control of the house and possibly add to their advantage but there are still dozens of races left to be decided tonight. Our political reporter greg lee has been watching all of this for us tonight. Greg what is happening in those crucial states. It is clear it will come down to the swing states. Likely to be very close. It will take time to count all of those ballots. Much of the attention like we talked about. President trump flip inside 2016. The socalled blue wall he broke through. Michigan so far, 65 reporting. President trump leading 54 to 5 . They received a historic number of absentee ballots. Election officials have said it could take days to count. In wisconsin we go.
That it inflicted. First, the latest numbers for california. Joe biden and california state senator winning big taking all of the states 55electoral votes as expected. The biggest haul in the Electoral College by a predictable victory. Here is where the poplar vote stands. Biden with a slight edge in the poplar vote. Those votes are still being counted. The key is the Electoral College. Right now biden leads with 237electoral votes and trump has 213. 270 votes are needed to win.
