The Ministry of External Affairs has warned Indian nationals against joining the Russian army in the conflict with Ukraine. Amid reports of Indian citizens working as support staff for the Russian army, the MEA has urged caution and advised citizens to stay away from the conflict. The Indian embassy in Moscow has been in contact with Russian authorities to secure the early discharge of any Indian nationals involved.
India has expressed concern over allegations of UNRWA staff involvement in the October 7 Hamas attack, stating that it has been extending assistance to Palestine both bilaterally and through the United Nations.

The US Commission on International Religious Freedom on Monday said religious freedom in India “continued to worsen” in 2022. The MEA spokesperson urged the body to “desist from such efforts and develop a better understanding of India, its plurality, its democratic ethos and its constitutional mechanisms”.
