we look at the latino-american voting groups as well as the asian-american groups. there are some similarities when they look at this anti-immigrant sort of label. that s right. so for more than a year now we have been subjected, and when i say people of color, latinos, aepi folks have been subjected to cruel, dangerous, and unfortunately not surprising rhetoric from the republican party an and, you know, you saw it in the o reilly show, whenever trump called us rapists and murderers. this has to stop and there are clear teams here, the people that stand with morality and the values of our country and the people that stand with trump like bill o reilly. right now it s trump versus all of us. jeff, as we were looking at that report, you had this mix of news and entertainment, a space that aapis don t do so well in. one of the things we re seeing is tles ooh this convergence that happened
would switch their vote if their chosen candidate had different views but they won t go further. the study also show asthma joe torre thinking to fix the problem is too complicated. joining me jeff yang and from washington, grace martinez, advocacy direct for or the united we stand. jeff, there are chinese for trump, a hindu group that hosted trump jed. how much are asian-american/pacific islander votes up for grab right now? not very i would say. the data from aepi data shows right now asian-americans are solidly in the clinton campaign column and a lot of that has to do with the fact that the very issues trump has run on are ones that are anathema to asian-americans, anti-immigrant, racist, bigoted, positions that are against what we stand for. this is not only one group as has been reported. talk about the similarities when
organization of all people, and we understand when our sh shoes merge and are connected and we share our stories, that s the pow they re comes from us. i think that we will continue to build pow we are aapi undocumented people, latino imgrants and stand against donald trump and his campaign of hate. jeff, to you on this one. you know, as we look at this voting group and which way they may swing, although you re alluding to going one way, in 2014 they went republican. it s really fascinating. it s not as if there wasn t an opportunity. there might still be to capture the asian-american vote by a republican party that sadly is right now kind of gone. asian-americans used to be 50/50 divided and even today aapi millennials, about 43% say they are not a member of any party. yet the opportunity is being set aside sempblly by this republican a party. jeff yang, greisa martinez, thanks for joining us. i m richard lui live at msnbc
