The howitzer fired. You can see the smoke. This is where it began. Inspiring start under the averages at Arlington National cemetery. That was the chute at route 110. Moments before that people took pictures of the parachutes coming down. Members of the elite parachute team descending on the start line delivering giant american flags. 7,000 feet for one of those flags. And one of those making that special entrance, Kyle Carpenter, a medal of honor recipient. He was one of the parachuters. That repep went saved a fellow marine during a grenade attack in afghanistan. Heres what he had to say. To fly over the capital and look at the reflecting pool and the Lincoln Memorial and just the white house and just everything our country stands for, democracy and freedom, to see the sun coming up over those historic places, its what we fought for, happy to do. Reporter Kyle Carpenter is also running the full marathon right now. Hes shooting for 12 30 to cross this finish line. The people youre see
