The Meghalaya Assembly had passed a resolution urging the Centre to include Khasi and Garo languages in the Eighth Schedule of the Indian Constitution, CM Sangma said.

"This entire matter is with the Ministry of Home Affairs and hence, we have to wait for any kind of direction or approval from their end,” CM Conrad K Sangma said.
"We have nothing against Congress leadership. But when the leaders of the party shut the door on your face then we will be forced to make our own decision when the time is right”.
