Introduction The elected official that I choose to interview is the Mayor of Avon Lake, Greg Zilka. I choose Mayor Zilka because although I donât live in the city of Avon Lake, I work in the city at a pizza shop, and I appreciate how beautiful of a city Avon Lake is. I emailed the mayorâs office and within a day I got a response back, and after about ten emails between the mayorâs assistant and myself, the interview was planned. I appreciated how Mr. Zilka through his assistant worked with me and my schedule to try to find a time best for me to conduct the interview, and how he was willing to meet in person, call, or email me, to which we agreed to a phone call. AVON LAKE, Ohio The Avon Lake Historical Society is a true asset to the city, and its members do some amazing work. If you have attended events in the city such as the North Coast Christmas with Santa visit, cemetery tours, Rockin the Rails and other library events, the Avon Lake Historical Society was part of the planning or was the host.
Preserving the history of Avon Lake is vital, and all members of the society should be commended for their efforts.
