WARNER ROBINS, Ga. During Monday night s council meeting, Mayor Randy Toms honored Warner Robins Recreation employee James Cody, who stopped to try and help during Saturday morning s fire. He saw what he thought was smoke coming from the back of the building, maybe somebody was burning some leaves in the backyard. He went closer to the house and he found out it was a house fire on Suzanne, says Toms.
It s made up of Mayor Randy Toms, Councilman Kevin Lashley and Councilman Holmes. There s always been suggestions brought up by citizens and now I think it s a good idea to sit down and talk. Find out how we can get the most use out of our mandated law enforcement officers.
Toms says they ll meet with the heads of the Fire, Police, Utilities and Public Works Departments to address any questions or concerns the public has and figure out the best ways to use their officers and personnel. Hopefully, once people understand that we have a public safety committee they will send us emails and say Hey, why don t you ask them about this.

Visitor information center coming to Warner Robins
A visitor information center and Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial Park will be located off of 1-75.
WARNER ROBINS, Georgia(41 NBC/WMGT) Mayor Randy Toms announced the city will have its first visitor information center.
It will be located on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Parkway across from Buc-ees.
“We feel like we needed a location at the interstate to be able to showcase the things that we have in Warner Robins,” said Mayor Toms.
The center will sit on 3.9 acres of land near the I-75 for traveler convenience.
The project will showcase two statues as well as walls displaying the names of soldiers who died in battle.

WARNER ROBINS, Ga. Some people in Warner Robins are concerned after pictures of a vacant building, with loads of trash outside it, were circulating on social media.
The building sits at 1205 Watson Boulevard. It was originally Citizen s State Bank when it first opened in 1956.
Pastor David Wynn of Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church says he drove by Saturday and noticed all of the mess. He and his friend Lewis Jackson went by Monday to start cleaning it up.
