The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal will host a mayoral debate two weeks prior to the general election.
Democratic nominee Victor Fleitas and Republican nominee Todd Jordan have confirmed their participation. The debate will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 25, at the Link Centre concert hall. It is scheduled to last approximately one hour.
Voters also will be able to watch a live stream of the event on www.djournal.com.

General admission for the event will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
Seating is limited to approximately 100 people, with social distancing measures in effect.
Masks are optional.

Masks are no longer required in city-owned buildings, the Tupelo mayor announced Thursday.

However, masks are still encouraged for anyone who has not been fully vaccinated.
On March 4, Mayor Jason Shelton issued an executive order requiring face-covering in city buildings.
Mississippi lifted all COVID-19 restrictions on March 3 but municipalities could still retain local restrictions.
