APPLETON – A man died Tuesday in a house fire on Mayfair Drive.
Fire crews responded around 11 p.m. to a house fire in the 1600 block of Mayfair Drive in Appleton, according to the Appleton Fire Department.
Officials said the first crew arrived to the house engulfed in fire. Firefighters extinguished the fire from outside the home and discovered a man who lived in the home died.
The fire is under investigation and a cause hasn’t been determined yet. The house is considered a total loss.

A London man charged with first-degree murder after a Sarnia-area mother of young twins died was convicted Monday â nearly one year after the woman was found dead â of an unrelated drug charge.
Owen Clarke, 35, pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine over a phone line from the Central North Correctional Centre. Clarke was previously being held at the jail in Stratford, but was moved to the maximum-security prison in Penetanguishene due to a COVID-19 outbreak at the facility in the Festival City.
