Joel Sutton, pastor at United Methodist Church in Manning, at Maxâs funeral on December 23, held in the IKM-Manning High School gym where heâd played basketball. âWhether he was quietly mentoring other students, or moving his cousins into a new home, or visiting the cemetery to clean up and care for his grandmaâs grave â he didnât do these things for attention. He did them to benefit and to lift up others. He did them because he was kind.â
