The Manning Fire and Rescue Department is making a change to their annual New Year’s Eve drive-thru fundraiser and will now direct the money raised to support a benefit fund set up for the family of one of their own. Fifteen-year-old Max Sanford, the son of firefighter Brett Sanford and his wife Kasie, died from injuries sustained in a car accident last Thursday near Manning. On Thursday, Dec. 31, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. the firefighters and other emergency personnel will be serving meals for a free-will donation that can be picked up at the Manning Fire Station or delivered throughout the community.
