Two years ago, Janice and Lorenzo Hicks launched a series of pop-up shops as a way to give back to the community, bring area residents together with family-friendly activities and raise awareness about local businesses, nonprofit organizations and services that are available in the community.
Council Member Willie McGhee is urging local residents to be on the lookout for upcoming announcements about public hearings to solicit feedback about improvements and amenities they would like to see in city parks particularly, a water feature/aquatic recreation facility.
Weather permitting, Ward 3 will host a community cleanup at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, and organizers are encouraging the public, particularly residents of Ward 3, to participate.
