His First Court Appearance is officer matthew switzer. The officer who is been on paid leave since february is battling addiction and checked into rehab for treatment. Prescription drug abuse is the Fastest Growing drug problem in the united states. Unfortunately it appears officer switzer is another casualty of that trend. Switzer who turned himself in is facing two counts of firstdegree burglary, one count of seconddegree burglary one count of fraudulently obtaining prescription drugs and one count of elder abuse. The District Attorneys Office says switzer used his status as an officer to steal prescription drugs from the apartments of senior citizens. He had prescriptions and the drugs that were involved are essentially harrowing. Switzers Attorney Says the client had numerous issues and severed from post traumatic stress.
