The Houston Texans sent four vaccinated health care workers to Super Bowl LV in Tampa Bay as part of the NFL s celebration of frontline medical heroes.
Last week, TORO and Texans cheerleaders surprised four employees at Texas Children s Hospital West Campus with the news and gift bags for their upcoming trip. The Texans sent Texas Children s Hospital West Campus Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Medical Director Dr. Matthew Pesek, nurses Matt Rivera and Bhumi Patel and respiratory therapist Kaitlin Hernandez to Sunday s game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Kansas City Chiefs.

HOUSTON – The Houston Texans and Texas Children’s Hospital announced that they have selected four local healthcare workers to attend the Super Bowl LV as their guest in Tampa Bay on Sunday.
The healthcare heroes were selected based on their “unwavering commitment to their community throughout the coronavirus pandemic,” according to a release.
The four workers, among other selected care workers who’ve been invited by NFL clubs, will participate in several Super Bowl LV activities at Raymond James Stadium.
According to a release, all invited guest will have completed their COVID-19 vaccination before traveling to Tampa Bay.

There will only be about 25,000 fans at Sunday’s Super Bowl in Tampa, Fla., but at least four of them will be Houston health care workers, thanks to the Texans and Texas Children’s Hospital.
The duo selected Texas Children’s Hospital registered nurses Bhumi Patel and Matthew Rivera, respiratory therapist Kaitlin Hernandez and Dr. Matthew Pesek – the medical director of Texas Children’s Hospital West Campus’ pediatric intensive care unit – to attend the game.
The NFL is inviting approximately 7,500 vaccinated health care workers to attend the Chiefs-Buccaneers game as a way to honor them for their work during the COVID-19 pandemic.
