The healthcare heroes were selected based on their “unwavering commitment to their community throughout the coronavirus pandemic,” according to a release. The four workers, among other selected care workers who’ve been invited by NFL clubs, will participate in several Super Bowl LV activities at Raymond James Stadium. According to a release, all invited guest will have completed their COVID-19 vaccination before traveling to Tampa Bay.

The duo selected Texas Children’s Hospital registered nurses Bhumi Patel and Matthew Rivera, respiratory therapist Kaitlin Hernandez and Dr. Matthew Pesek – the medical director of Texas Children’s Hospital West Campus’ pediatric intensive care unit – to attend the game. The NFL is inviting approximately 7,500 vaccinated health care workers to attend the Chiefs-Buccaneers game as a way to honor them for their work during the COVID-19 pandemic.
