“We’re asking our community for help so we can continue to serve our community,” said Rev. Matteo Carboni. “We were looking at our financial situation, and we re realizing that in 2022 we re going to be hitting a difficult financial year.” There’s two reasons why that is the case. “Currently, we are receiving help to support a clergy person from the [Anglican Diocese of Saskatoon], and that program that we re on comes to an end in May 2022,” Carboni said. The other reason is the pandemic. In normal times, the church could rent its rooms to exercise groups, a piano teacher, and the local chapters of Toastmasters and AlAnon; as well as hosting teas and bake sales, fall suppers, garage sales and turkey pie sales to raise money.
