Peshawar admin submits report to PHC on prices Peshawar May 4, 2021 PESHAWAR: The district administration has submitted a report on the direction of Chief Justice of Peshawar High Court (PHC) Justice Qaiser Rashid Khan about the actions taken against hoarders, profiteers and inspection of bazaars conducted across the Peshawar city during the 20 days of Ramazan. The report stated that in 20 days of Ramazan, 6091inspection of trader centres conducted, 1365 shopkeepers were arrested and 296 shops had been sealed by the administration. It added that administrative officers were monitoring the auction of fruits and vegetables in the early morning. They issue official pricelists and then go to the field to ensure the implementation of official prices in the city.

Minister booked for hosting iftar dinner in restaurant - Newspaper

PESHAWAR: The City Police have booked health minister Taimur Saleem Jhagra for hosting an iftar dinner at a local restaurant in violation of Covid-19 standard operating procedures. The FIR, which also named the restaurant’s management, was registered by the Sarband police station early on Tuesday over a social media uproar, which erupted after pictures of the minister’s iftar party were widely shared online. Sarband police registered the FIR under sections 6 and 17 of the KP Epidemic Control and Emergency Relief Act, 2020, against provincial minister for health and management of the Hujra restaurant, where the iftar party was arranged. Section 6 of the law provides for the restrictions relating to the attendance in public places, schools and burials and declares that the violation carries punishment with an imprisonment for a term not exceeding two months or a fine not exceeding Rs50,000, or both.

Tribesmen in Bara protest killing of student in custody National March 17, 2021 BARA: Thousands of people staged a protest demonstration here on Tuesday against the killing of a student, who died in police custody at the West Cantonment Police Station in Peshawar two days ago. A large number of protesters, including politicians, members of the Qaumi Councils, social activists, Anjuman-e-Tajiran Bara, shopkeepers and others attended the protest at Khyber Chowk at Bara Bazaar in Khyber district. They demanded the government to provide justice to the family of Shahzeb Afridi and punish the erring cops. The protesters had blocked the main Pak-Afghan highway for four hours.
