veto of a 480-million-dollar tax hike to help boost education spending. thousands of teachers rallied at the kentucky capital urging lawmakers to take action. republican matt bevins said the measure would not generate enough money to cover new state spending. g.o.p. legislative leaders disagreed. the republican controlled state senate will take up the veto next. arizona s governor is offering teachers a 20% pay hike. the teachers there threatened to go on strike after republican doug doocy said he would stick by an earlier proposal for a 1% raise. teachers are saying besides the 20% they want no more tax cuts until per pupil spending in arizona matches the national average. you may have noticed it s costing you a bit more lately to put gasoline in your vehicle, it s likely that will get worse before it gets better. correspondent kevin corke tells us what s going on. it s a familiar sight.
