shoulders and a big heart. and speaking of which, the president asked me late yesterday when we were leaving the white house in the evening, to just say thanks to everyone gathered here today. hard-working americans like all of you were some of our biggest supporters and on behalf of president trump, thank you, thank you for your support and thank you for being here today. we re truly grateful. bevin, kentucky is now a right to work state. kentucky is now open for business. [applause] governor, the president and i are great to partner with you to make kentucky great again as we make america great again. i get along with people from kentucky, except in march. it s a little testy, some evenings. but the same goes with all of my strong feelings about your governor, go for other dedicated public servants who are here, state senator ralph after rad alvarado joined us for a great discussion, and congressman bret guthrey, stand up and show how much people appreciate your conservative stand in washington d.c. thank you, both. had 45% to the republican matt bevins 40%. but look what happened on election day. the real results? bevin 53%, conway 44%. not even close. and the bluegrass poll is a respected poll in kentucky. when you look at what went wrong, a lot of times you have to crack open the externals. you had too many members of a particular group, was there a partisan skew of turnout that wasn t picked up in the poll? it affects hwho they expect o see on the vote and maybe they had the wrong assumptions. as you know, we are inundated with polls throughout the presidential race. here s one in iowa. plus or minus 4%, the margin there, with trump in the lead,
know, is an institution. it s a place where, you know, the giants of american history have walked. and as we have had a conversation over the last decade, politics keeps going down. the path it s going and finding good people to run for office. in fact, he would seem to be depositive of that. he is a sfrang cat ftrange c. strange cat! you know what. strange cat! he is a strange cat. and his background. you know? so many of these guys that, suddenly, 10:00 happens and, oh, i m a tea party guy. he is one of them. it s just like, was it matt bevins was writing a letter bail out the banks! please, bail out the banks! please! and then like two years later, he is attacking mitch mcconnell for voting to bail out the banks and he doesn t love america. at least he had the whole dock fighting thing to fall back on. he had that in his back
