The events form part of the government s Events Research Programme (ERP), which will explore the risk of transmission and the effectiveness of measures such as ventilation and testing. Liverpool s involvement is not the first time the city has been used to help shape national policy during the pandemic, as in November it was also selected for the mass testing trial where residents were offered regular coronavirus tests.
