2021: UMass Dartmouth receives Massachusetts Board of Higher Education grant to create innovative curriculum for a Transformative Justice Certification Program

UMass Dartmouth, along with partners Massasoit Community College and UMass School of Law, were awarded a $150,000 Higher Education Innovation Fund (HEIF) grant from the Office of the Governor to research and gather evidence-based data toward the creation of a multi-campus curriculum for a Transformative Justice Certification Program. This initiative will help institutions of higher education implement training, certification, and workforce readiness for Transformative Justice Practitioners. FSU receives grant to educate leaders about systemic racism

By Sam Bonacci Framingham State University has received a $62,250 grant to address systemic racism in higher education and how it manifests on campus, with 150 campus leaders slated for the education. The grant from the Massachusetts Higher Education Innovation Fund will be used to coordinate a Racial Equity Policy Review Institute to include leaders from across the FSU campus. “Our central goal is for leaders on campus to leave the institute with an actionable plan to undertake policy review in their areas within the 2021-2022 academic year,” Constanza Cabello, vice president for diversity, inclusion and community engagement, said in the announcement.
