We did have a chance to speak with one of the residents here who says at least part of the building that burned was a place where many artists and musicians live. A former armory on 24th near san pablo that was converted. Firefighters say when they came to the building around 3 00 this morning, they came on reports of a smoke alarm sounding kind of low. Crews didnt see smoke right away but then saw smoke coming from one of the units. It spread through the attic. By 4 00 a. M. They say it was under control.
