The Centre directed the Jammu and Kashmir administration to seize assets and freeze bank accounts of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat and Muslim League Jammu Kashmir. Both banned groups were involved in anti-India propaganda and secessionist activities. The Union Home Ministry issued notifications under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967.
