PennDOT adds vehicle restrictions to I-81, I-83 and I-283 due to winter storm

As a winter storm continues across central Pennsylvania, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has put in place additional travel restrictions for several highways.
The newest announcement places several interstate highways - Interstate 83 in Cumberland, Dauphin and York counties, Interstate 81 in Franklin, Cumberland, Dauphin and Lebanon counties, and Interstate 283 from PA 283 to I-83 - under the state’s Tier 4 restriction plan.

Harrisburg, PA–Due to the severity of the winter storm, PennDOT is temporarily reducing the speed limit on interstates and interstate look-alikes in the south central region of Pennsylvania.
PennDOT is urging motorists to avoid unnecessary travel but those who must head out will see speeds reduced to 45 mph on the following highways:
Interstate 81 in Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin and Lebanon counties;
I-83 in Cumberland, Dauphin and York counties;
I-283 in Dauphin County.
US 22 from I-81 to PA 75;
US 30 from US-15 to PA 23;
I-78 from I-81 to Mile Marker 10;
US 222 from US 30 to PA 568/ PA 272;

In addition to temporarily reducing the speed limit, more restrictions will take effect as of 9 a.m.

PENNSYLVANIA, USA In response to the current winter storm, PennDOT and the Pennsylvania Turnpike are implementing additional restrictions that will take effect as of 9 a.m. on Feb. 1.
These restrictions will remain in place until conditions improve. Motorists are urged to avoid travel if possible.
Interstate 76/276/95 (PA Turnpike mainline) from Interstate 81 (Carlisle Interchange, Exit 226) to the New Jersey border;
Interstate 80 from Interstate 99 to Interstate 81;
The entire length of Interstate 81 in both directions;
The entire length of Interstate 83 in both directions;
