After fleeing Afghanistan, several hundred refugees have ended up in mid-Missouri. Community groups there came together to gather donations for new and expectant Afghan moms, and hosted a baby shower and health clinic to help them transition to life in America.

Last August, the United States completed the American exit from Afghanistan, and as the Taliban regained control of the county, numerous Afghans – many of whom had worked with the US military – were forced to flee.Several hundred of those refugees have ended up in Mid-Missouri, so in January community groups came together to gather donations for new and expectant Afghan moms.And they didn’t stop there – they also hosted a baby shower and health clinic to educate and welcome Afghan Mom as they transition to life in America and to life as new moms.

Главная страница | News & Events | University of Missouri Signs Its Second Cooperation Agreement with a Kyrgyz University August 2, 2021 – During a study abroad program on “Politics and Society in Central Asia” for students, professors and staff of the University of Missouri, university representatives led by Vice Provost for International Programs Dr. Mary Stegmaier, signed a cooperation agreement with Toktomamatov International University in Jalal-Abad on July 22, 2021. The purpose of the agreement is to serve as an indication of mutual interest for cooperation between the two institutions.  Specifically, the agreement includes encouragement for faculty to collaborate on joint teaching programs, as well as student and faculty exchange programs.   This is the second such agreement between the University of Missouri and a Kyrgyz university, the first having been signed with Jalal-Abad State University (JASU) earlier this spring.
