The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff s Office says that the discovery of human remains in a wooded area this week has led to two arrests for murder. Sheriff Soignet advised that on February 24, 2021, Terrebonne Parish Sheriff s Office Detectives located human remains in the 5200 block of North Bayou Black Drive.
Soignet says that detectives have been working closely with Morgan City Police Department and Lafayette Sheriff âs Office detectives after receiving information of a murder that occurred in Gibson, LA. Through the investigation, detectives were led to the area in the 5200 block of North Bayou Black Drive. Baldwin woman arrested for cruelty to animals

BALDWIN, La. â The Baldwin Police Department arrested a Baldwin woman on Sunday for two counts of aggravated cruelty to animals after finding two dead dogs on her property that had been left to starve.
Demis Bowie Romar, 48, of Baldwin was booked into the St. Mary Parish Jail on Feb. 14 before she was released on a $7,500 bond Sunday evening.
KATC Investigates obtained the police report for Romar s arrest, which states that the responding officer found two deceased, emaciated dogs in an outside kennel at Romar s residence.
