just one second ago, bwi marshall, just got to 105. 105 degrees at the airport. many places at least 100. ocean city, only 88. oakland, a cool 84. and the heat index. however, the dew point, we did drop today. the heat index, this is as of a few minutes ago, was 104. essentially. there s really no heat index with the humidity as low as it is. but easton is up to 106. ocean city feels like 99. in oakland, it only feels like 81 degrees. with these high temperatures, obviously we have heat advisories in effect through late this evening and again all day tomorrow. across the philadelphia area, excessive heat warning in effect. once again, we ll update these for you. yesterday, we got to 100. that was not a record. the record for yesterday was 102. today, at least 104. i just saw 105 come in. and there s the previous record, 101. last time we had two consecutive 100-degree days was back in july of 1999. very unusual to have this kind of heat for this many days. we ll check back
relief by the end of the week. david collins joins us live outside of baltimore without elderly folks are dealing with it. there is a bit of a breeze and it is not quite as he made, but when you re talking 105, that is dangerous heat. that is right. can you imagine having this kind of heat and being stuck inside without air conditioning? on friday, the air conditioning at the senior center here broke and nobody reported it. the center is now of and now under investigation by authorities and several residents are being transferred. brenda is one of 150 residents at this center in downtown. she told us that the air- conditioning system broke down on friday and has been so unbearably hot i run out of sweat i ran out of sweat. city health officials only became aware of the problem after one of the residents called 911 for help. the responders and the nursing staff did everything they could. they checked on all of the residents in the building to make sure there was no
