Some women came west with husbands or fathers who were in search of gold, or opportunity in the west. Often the landscape they encountered was quite different from the one they left behind. Some had to learn new skills in order to survive. Some women were born here. Others came for their own reasons but each was met with a challenge due to their gender or the path they chose. So lets take a step back in time and bring history alive.
