Kristen, we saw the Health Care Issue a big issue at tom cottons town hall. Reporter republicans have said for years now they want to repeal and replace it, that was part of President Trumps platform as a candidate but they still havent said explicitly how theyre going to do that. So take a look at part of the backlash senator cotton got last night. I would like everyone who is affected by the Affordable Care act and affected by health care to stand up. [ cheers and applause ] he was pressed on these angry protests not just with senator cottons town hall last night but republican lawmakers have been getting some of this blowback for days now, hallie. Thats what has made it so striking. Were heard from the president this is paid protesters to a large extent. Interestingly thats an argument that the Obama Administration made back when they saw some of this bac
and justice for all, it erupted from there and set the tone for the whole evening. did either of you vote for president trump or to senator cotton for that matter in. i m sorry, i didn t understand the question. that s okay, mary. i think we might have having some technical issues. i asked if you voted for senator cotton or president trump? no. no. senator demint. i ask because senator demint said he believed a lot of these protesters were getting bussed in from other states, not constituents. that is different from what senator cotton said to you, mary. is it your experience that these folks at these town halls or the town halls last night are coming
of frustration you heard in that room or did you see it building over the last six months or so? i think both, the answer to both questions is yes. i was quite surprised by the intensity of emotion, of my friends and neighbors. i saw dozens and dozens of people that i knew there and i was surprised about how fervent they were about their desires and about their issues and i had been to the steve womack meeting, who is our congressional representative two days before and there was quite a bit of fervor there, too. so it seems to be building and it seems to be that it will be sustained long term. one of the questions i think from folks here in washington has been sort of what action might come out of these town halls, when republicans like tom cotton get back to d.c. mary, you wanted this bipartisan commission to investigate russian interference in the
