Tufts Medical Center announced Monday that it completed 61 adult heart transplants in 2023, breaking its own regional record and becoming the first-ever center in New England to reach that benchmark in one calendar year, officials said.
The American Heart Association (AHA) recently announced cardiovascular-kidney-metabolic (CKM) syndrome as the intersection of kidney disease, type 2 diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular disease. Approximately 33% of American adults are believed to have at least three risk factors of CKM syndrome.
