Cng Car Sales In India: The CNG-powered passenger vehicle (PV) sales have increased 31% from 1.02 lakh units in 2019 to 4.21 lakh units in 2022. Currently, four major OEMs offer a total of 24 CNG models. With better availability of supplies, new CNG model launches, strengthening of CNG infrastructure and the reduction in CNG prices, the CNG penetration is expected to grow from about 11% in 2023 to 18% in 2027.
Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) currently sells nine of its 15 models with CNG powertrain and is looking to drive in more models with such technology in the coming days.
Maruti Suzuki is seeing the demand for CNG vehicles going up on high fuel prices. Of the company’s total pending order of 2.8 lakh units, 1.1 lakh orders are for CNG models.

New Delhi, Feb 21 (PTI) Amid skyrocketing prices of petrol and diesel, Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) is looking to cash in on the accelerated demand for its CNG vehicles, expecting nearly 50 per cent growth in the ongoing fiscal year, according to a senior company official. The company, which offers CNG options in eight models out of total 14 available in the Indian market, is also actively working to expand the portfolio.
