Valdosta State Rallied To Beat Lee Lady Flames In OT Saturday, December 19, 2020 Lee women’s basketball team is finding the Complex at Valdosta State a very difficult place to play. Last Dec. 17th, the Lady Flames lost a rugged battle to the host Lady Blazers, one of their only three regular season losses. On Saturday afternoon Valdosta battled back from a 12-point deficit at the beginning of the fourth period to force an overtime to win 80-76.  It was the first loss of the early season for the 2-1 Lady Flames. Valdosta improved to 3-0. Both teams will break for the holidays and Lee will return to action on Saturday, Jan.

Freshman Duncan Leads Lee Women Over Shorter Thursday, December 17, 2020 Freshman Julia Duncan tallied 19 points and sophomore Haley Schubert followed with 16 in leading the Lee women s basketball team to a 72-53 road victory at Shorter University on Wednesday evening. The Lady Flames improved to 2-0 and expect to face a stronger challenge at Valdosta State on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m.  Any win on the road in the GSC is important, said Lee coach Marty Rowe after the victory. I m not sure we played to the high expectation level we have for our teams but give Shorter credit they re much improved and competed hard for 40 minutes.

Lee Lady Flames Open Season With Convincing Win Monday, December 14, 2020 After being off the playing floor for over nine months, the Lee University women showed little sign of rust by outscoring visiting West Florida, 23-10 in the first quarter and then holding a commanding 52-24 halftime lead in a convincing 80-58 victory on Monday afternoon inside Walker Arena. Sophomore Haley Schubert made 9-of-11 shots from the field and one 3-pointer in leading the Lady Flames with 22 points. She also displayed her quickness and came away with six steals, plus going to the boards for a team-leading five rebounds.  Maddie Long, who has worked her way back from a pair of knee surgeries, hit 5-of-7 shots inside the arc and made 3-4 from beyond the circle in finishing with 13 points.
