The Kirksville City Council, at their Feb. 5 regular meeting, approved an ordinance authorizing Mayor Zac Burden to execute a second amendment to the tower space lease between USCOC of Greater Missouri, LLC (US Cellular) and the city.
Ray Klinginsmith, a Kirksville legend who once served as the Rotary International president (2010-11), passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 17, at the age of 86. Klinginsmith, who stressed service to others, was a mentor to many in the community a list of people far too long to mention.
Alliant Bank in Kirksville, hosted a Kirksville Area Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours “Holiday Celebration” at the bank offices on South Baltimore Street, Thursday, Dec. 14. Hundreds of guests attended the annual event, which is the largest of the chamber’s After Hours program. The bank was filled with holiday decorations, including a Christmas tree. Food and drinks were catered by The Wooden Nickel and included a bacon-wrapped alligator with a full chicken stuffed in its jaws. Music was provided by Randy Smith, who juggled between a saxophone and keyboard.
The Adair County Commission and the Adair County Clerk’s Office hosted a public hearing on Monday, Dec. 4, to discuss a proposed realignment of the Adair County Commission District boundaries for 1st and 2nd District commissioners.
The ATSU Missouri School of Dentistry & Oral Health celebrated their 10th birthday on Wednesday, Dec. 6 at the dental school building on the ATSU Kirksville campus.
