a piece of wood in the 200 block of the avenue. he came from the honduras assisted by the casa of maryland.? people are afraid and the word is passing among the community that baltimore maybe isn t such a safe place. reporter: 19-year-old jermaine holly is in custody in connection with his murder. he told them he hated hispanic people. his mother said he suffers from mental disorders. also saturday night police say 6 people surrounded two hispanic men and robbed them on south clinton street. asia carter, raheem bay, and another have been charged on that. last saturday at north lynwood another hispanic man was shot and he died over the weekend. they are looking for a 13-year- old girl in connection with that case. it s more and scarier and people need, people are afraid more so than they have been in the past. police say several other hispanic people have been reported being robbed over the past several months. it s common for this population to carry large amounts of
today, it is a chinchilla, so sweet. before we get to all that fun, we do have breaking news. something we have been following. a system wide power outage shut down all train service. we are talking between baltimore and washington, d.c. and all the way up to new york city. now according to the maryland transit administration, right now the problem is with the power lines that run above the tracks and the power trains. it s not clear right now when the failure occurred or how fast it will be fixed, but it is certainly going to affect travel today. meanwhile, amtrak says service has been suspended between new york city and philadelphia because of the low voltage problem. we will continue to follow the story. we have people in the newsroom working on it. we ll bring it in our show. now to a hot topic here. a series of attacks on hispanic people in parts of baltimore city has police and the community trying to figure out how to keep it from happening again. there have been two

marine, caesar laurean, guilty of first-degree murder, in the 2003 death of his former colleague, lance corporal lauterbach. in the north carolina department of correction, for the remainder of his natural life. a sentence of life imprisonment without parole. reporter: lauterbach was eight months along, when laurean, who feared his professional life would be destroyed, lured her to his home. he confronted her, hit her on the head with a crowbar. and buried her remains in a fire pit in his backyard. blood was found throughout laurean s garage and a crowbar he gave to a marine buddy was lauterbaches. he con conducted a ruse, making it appear as if she was alive. he eventually fled his home and was on the run until police arrested him months later in mexico. defense attorneys tried to paint lauterbach as a troubled, distraught, young woman. but the judge limited testimony about her credibility. jurors never heard from the defendant nor his wife. this case has been a traged
