The University of Delaware School of Nursing made changes to in-person learning to ensure students continued to get the critical exposure to hands-on practice needed for success in their career. In-person simulations were expanded from one hour to four hours and observers were added to help third-year nursing students learn from different perspectives. Heiddy DiGregorio, director of simulation for SON, said many of the changes have resulted in greater independence among students and a better understanding of their role in the continuum of patient care.

Lenawee Community Foundation
As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to be unsafe, the Lenawee Community Foundation needed to make the difficult decision to cancel its 2021 annual meeting.
Typically, the annual meeting brings together local individuals, organizations and businesses while recognizing award recipients and the work of donors, volunteers and community partners. Although disappointed that the special gathering could not happen again this year, we look forward to spring 2022 and that there is still much to celebrate.
The Lenawee Leadership Award honors a person or couple who exemplify the underlying principle that the future of our county will be determined by the quality of its leadership. Dear Gov. Whitmer:
We know you’re really busy, but we haven’t touched base in a while, and after getting all the snow mowed Wednesday morning great April Fool’s joke by the way, even if it did arrive nearly three weeks late hope you don’t mind that we’re dropping you a line.
Because we’ve got a few things we need to get off our chests.
We pay pretty close attention to all the COVID-related goings on, so we know how frustrating it is to beg the feds to send a bit more vaccine Michigan’s way to counter the current surge only to find Dana Carvey standing in your way, doing his “nah gah dah” thing from back in the Bush administration days. Who knew he had such staying power? Well, we’re beginning to wonder if he recently moved down our way.
