and you look at these pictures that we re showing, if i were the prosecutor handling this case this would be an open and shut one. it is certainly one that i would not prosecute. especially because the owner of the pub has said publically that johnson was polite and cordial when he was turned away from the pub. don i know you have been working your sources over there at the university of virginia spoken to people close to martese johnson. any update on his condition? you broke the news friday night that some of his family members were concerned. they took him to the little medical facility there, because he seemed to had swelling in his head. the only thing they said sources close to the family and martese are saying to me at this point, they were concerned thursday when we reported that. now they are saying he is in good health. also new information that i need to report to you about the pub owner and about the plea he is going to enter thursday.

began weeping on my campus was earlier this semester. i m at wake forest it s down the road from unc and it was after the shooting death of muslim students at the university of north carolina. and again, a reminder that this is not just about difference there are these life-and-death consequences associated with it. these are not abstract ideas. we have to recognize that it translates into violence. it s not it s not just whether we feel good about these issues or not. this translates into people s level of safety. when it happens to one, it happens to an entire community, you know. and so when we hear about anything related to murders, police brutality, any of these things, it has this major impact beyond just the individual as much as the trauma is so deep for that individual it also exists for that entire community. in fact black students at the university of virginia wrote in the cavalier daily, in many ways the physical pain martese endured has left an open wound on the hear
sfwr one thing that got to me about the martese video, he s screaming i m a uva student and i think that should be clear to everyone that while yes, that is important, being a black male kind of supersedes that in the eyes of law enforcement. they re so quick to be heavy handleded when it is a black male because there is this perceived threat. i don t feel like if it was a white student who had a fake i.d., i don t think there would have been an issue. there are plenty of students on this grounds with fake i.d.s, but none have been put in the hospital. the coverage ratcheted up when governor mcauliffe ordered a state investigation. and when the president teresa sullivan excessed her sympathy. sullivan was criticized for overreacting by banning fraternities when rolling stone reported a gang rape had taken place at a uva frat. a botched story later discredited, but when which led to journalists descending on the
violence. but then again, to just i didn t see any of them trying to help him. the governor has launched an investigation into the use of force. students also demanding answers. we re pissed we re angry, we want answers, we want people to be punished for the mistreatment they had on the young man, martese and we just need you know we need people to be held accountable. officials with the abc would not comment when we pressed them yesterday on these charges that there was some racially motivated and some police brutality engaged in here. we have to stress the latest version of events is from martese johnson and his attorney. their version of events. what dot abc agents say? that s the subject of a state investigation, a process that includes actually a criminal investigation into the agents conduct. ailsen? it will be interesting to see the results of that investigation, brian, thank you. the fbi and the justice department s civil rights
